Introduction
Ever wondered how much time it takes to complete a card? It's now possible with time tracking. By registering time on activities, you can now track progress in real-time and analyze recorded time. So, in addition to planning, you can now measure results as well. Along with time tracking, we're also introducing analysis.
Time tracking is temporarily available to everyone and will later become a standard part of the Professional package. With time tracking, you'll know exactly how long you and your colleagues have been working on activities. This means no more guesswork about the duration of an activity and who worked on it. Time registration is based on the logged-in user.
Different ways of time tracking
You can track time in vPlan in three ways. We'll briefly explain all three options.
Option 1: Start and stop activities
In a card, you'll see a green clock icon for each created activity. Click on the clock to start the activity. The timer will automatically start running.
Option 2: Duration
In the card, under the section Time Registration, you'll see all the time that has been registered so far. Here, you have the option to register time yourself using the Duration option. With this option, you can select an activity and specify the date and the number of hours you want to register for the activity.
Option 3: Time Range
You also have the option to add a Time Range to a card. With this option, you can select an activity from the card and specify the start and end time of this activity.
When an activity has started, you can also clearly see this reflected on the card in the calendar and list view:
