With subtasks, you divide a large project into different components. This allows you to better see which people, resources or expenses are needed for each part of a project. Dividing bigger projects makes planning tasks a lot easier. The main advantages:
- Productivity: By dividing a task in to smaller chunks, you can start working on tasks earlier and it feels less overwhelming.
- Progress: With the use of subtasks, you can better track the progress of the complete task.
- Better overview: You get a better overview by dividing one big task into smaller subtaks.
- Prioritize: You can prioritize better because you can rank subtasks.
- Responsibilities: with the use of subtasks you can link multiple colleagues to different tasks.
Add subcards
Open the card to which you want to add subtasks. Click on 'subcards' in the menu and add subcards. Give the task a name, startdate and link the appropriate resources. Then open the subcard and add other information, such as activities and estimated hours.
Do you want to make the subcard a separate card? Open the subcard, click on the lightning flash icon and then click on 'convert to card'.
Show cards visual
View cards with subcards in our listview and timeline. Open the main card and the subcards will be shown.
For each main task, the columns show the total hours of the task. When you view the fields 'estimated', 'registered' and 'remaining' in the columns, the total hours will be shown.
Returning subcards ♻️
Cards can be returned weekly, monthly or annually within vPlan. This also applies to subcards. When you set the maintask to return every week, subcards also automatically become repetetive. Do you want to return only one subcard? That is possible! Click on the subcard and return only this task.
For example:
You work at an accountancy agency. You serve various clients and for each client you deliver different services. You plan the client as a card and the various activities such as declerations become subcards. Let these subcards return monthly or yearly, for example the annual preparation of financial statements.
Automate subcards
Imagine you are working on project 132 which consists of three subcards. You won't get the last subcard done in time and the end date will shift. Do you want the end date of the whole project to shift as a result? This can be done automatically with our new automation.
